1 box of strawberries, washed and hulled
1 cup (ch) of heavy cream
Juice of 1 lemon
1 cup (ch) of light cream de leite
1/3 cup (ch) of Port wine, or cherry liqueur, or crème de cassis, if preferred
5-6 cups of small meringues

In a saucepan, bring to low heat and cook for 5 minutes the strawberries, heavy cream, and lemon juice
Add the light cream and your preferred beverage
Wait for it to boil
Pour everything into a baking dish
With your hands, break up the meringues
Join them with the rest, stirring well
Serve still warm
If you like, place some fresh strawberry halves on top to garnish and give a slightly more acidic flavor to the dessert.
