Dissolve the sugar in milk, stirring constantly over low heat
Let it cook until it thickens and reaches a smooth ball consistency
Add the damascos and cook until they're fully rehydrated
Remove from heat and beat until the mixture thickens
Add the butter, pecans, and vanilla
Beat with a wooden spoon until it starts to firm up
Transfer to a damp cloth and shape into 2 long rolls about 70 cm
Let cool
Chill in refrigerator
To serve, cut into slices about 2 cm
Yield: 70 slices.
