2 1/2 cups of sifted flour
1 tablespoon of active dry yeast
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/2 cup of granulated sugar
1/2 cup of butter or margarine
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup of honey
1 tablespoon of grated lemon zest
1 tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice
2 1/2 cups of sifted flour

Sift together the flour, yeast, and salt and set aside
Add the sugar to the butter, beating well
Add the egg, honey, lemon juice, and lemon zest, beating well
Gradually add the dry ingredients
Shape into a cylindrical form, wrap in wax paper; refrigerate overnight
Slice thinly and place on a baking sheet
Sprinkle with granulated sugar
Bake in a hot oven for 8 to 10 minutes.
