Mix all the ingredients and knead until you get a smooth, even dough
Let it rest, covered, for 15 minutes
Gradually open up the dough to about the thinnest possible thickness
Cut into pieces of 20 cm in length and 5 cm in width with a cookie cutter
Make cuts in the middle of each piece
Fry in hot oil, drain on paper towels, and serve dusted with confectioner's sugar
Yield: about 12 pieces
