1 packet of lime-flavored gelatin
1 cup hot water
1 cup cold water
2 tablespoons vinegar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
3/4 cup grated carrots
3/4 cup cabbage, grated on the coarse side
3/4 cup chopped salami (or ground beef)
lettuce leaves
sour cream
mayonnaise or creamy salad dressing

Dissolve the gelatin in hot water
Add cold water, vinegar, salt, and mix well
Chill in the refrigerator until it starts to set (like the consistency of egg whites, without beating)
Add carrots, cabbage, and salami, and pour into a hollowed-out mold or 6 individual molds
Chill in the refrigerator until firm
Serving suggestion: serve on lettuce leaves with sour cream, mayonnaise, or creamy salad dressing
Serve as an appetizer or in a cold buffet
