Combine everything and bring to a boil, stirring until the sugarcane dissolves, then reduce heat and let it simmer without stirring until it reaches a glassy consistency
When droplets form on the water, it's done
Place the pan inside another with boiling water (off the stove), and work quickly with the candies in the following way: arrange some skewers, longer than toothpicks (they can be crochet hooks or piccolo sticks with a point)
Poke one candy on each side and support it over the divider grid of ice cubes (or another support that has about the same size), so that the candies are free and the skewer is supported
Take one skewer at a time, dip it in the syrup, and return to the support to dry
After drying, cut off any sugarcane strands that have dripped off with scissors
Arrange them in golden or silver molds and serve, with pride, your masterpiece!
