2 cups of strawberries
1 orange, peeled and cut into slices
1/4 cup of Madeira wine
1/2 cup of sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons of grated orange peel
1 tablespoon of ground ginger
2 cups of strawberries

Blend half the strawberries and the orange in a blender until it reaches a purée consistency
Mix with the other ingredients
Chill in the refrigerator to set
Serve over ice cream, cakes, puddings, or tortes
Yield: 3 cups.
