Grease a 22 cm x 35 cm baking dish
Remove the seeds from the fruit and mix with water
Strain through a fine-mesh sieve and reserve the juice
Cut the pulp into pieces, without peeling
In a large saucepan, bring to a boil over high heat the pulp, juice, and granulated sugar, stirring constantly
Reduce heat and cook the jam for 2 hours or until it reaches the desired consistency by lifting it from the bottom of the pan
Remove from heat and spread the jam on the baking dish
Let cool completely and cut into pieces
Serve at room temperature.
