In a pot, melt the butter and add the onion
Stir
Add the meat and brown it for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, adding small amounts of water as needed to prevent sticking at the bottom
Season with salt, black pepper, cumin, and thyme
Add enough beer to cover the meat, cover, and cook for 2 hours
Remove the meat from the pot and reserve
Sprinkle wheat flour over the sauce, stirring lightly so it doesn't clump, and let it simmer for 2 minutes
Return the meat to the pot to reheat
Remove from heat, arrange on a platter, and serve with fried or baked potatoes and green beans.
