4 slices of pineapple, without core
800g ground beef
4 thick slices of gruyère cheese
4 hamburger buns
2 cups of chopped iceberg lettuce
8 thin slices of red onion
12 thin slices of tomato
Olive oil (for brushing)
Ketchup to taste (optional)
Salt and black pepper to taste

Fry the pineapple slices in a non-stick skillet brushed with olive oil, on both sides until caramelized
Set aside
Season the ground beef with salt and pepper
Divide it into four portions and shape the burgers
Brush the burgers with olive oil and cook them on both sides until well done
Place one slice of cheese over each burger and let it melt for about 1 minute
Bake the buns in the oven
Assemble the sandwiches by placing a pineapple ring, a lettuce leaf, an onion slice, and a tomato slice on top of the beef patty
Serve with ketchup if desired
