Mix the vodka, simple syrup, chocolate syrup, and vanilla in a glass or ceramic container
Close it well
Let it rest in a cool, dark place for 2 weeks, shaking well every 2 days
Filtre the liqueur through a clean double layer of cheesecloth into a clean container
As the chocolate residue is thick, you may need to change the cloth several times
Check the flavor and add more simple syrup if necessary
Close it well and let it age in a cool, dark place for 4 weeks
Pour into a decanter and close it well
Serve in 3-ounce pours.
