Combine the dried plums and water in a saucepan
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes or until the fruit has absorbed as much liquid as possible
Let cool
Mix in the sugar
Pour into a glass container with a lid
Add the vodka, brandy, and cinnamon pieces
Cork tightly and agitate
Allow to rest at room temperature for 2 weeks to mature and ferment
Invert the container once daily to allow the sugar to dissolve completely
Strain through a cheesecloth into a decorative bottle
Serve over ice cream or in fruit salads
Yield: 3 cups of liqueur or 12 servings.
