1 1/2 cups of sugar

4 1/2 cups of shredded coconut, fresh or rehydrated with 1 cup of water
food coloring (yellow and red)

In a saucepan, combine the sugar and milk
Cook over high heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is boiling
Let it cook for about 5 minutes
Remove from heat and add the shredded coconut, mixing well
Divide into two parts and place in separate bowls
Tint one part pink and the other light yellow
Let it cool
Form small balls (1 tablespoon each) and dust with granulated sugar
Top each ball with a dried cranberry
Make 36 units.
