12 fresh oysters
Crushed ice to taste
5 limes
For the sauce
1 tablespoon finely chopped onion
To taste: salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
1/2 cup tomato juice
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice

On a clean cloth, place the oysters with the rounded side facing down
Open each one carefully with a small knife
Remove the top shell, leaving the liquid in the bottom
Arrange the oysters on a platter with ice and season with limes
Prepare the sauce
In a blender, combine all the ingredients and blend until smooth
Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve and transfer to a serving dish
On a large plate, arrange the serving dish in the center, surround it with oysters, and serve.
