1 packet of active dry yeast for orange cake
1/2 cup (ch) of granulated sugar
1/2 cup (ch) of orange juice
3 tablespoons of unsalted butter, softened
2 eggs
3 1/2 cups (ch) of all-purpose flour, sifted.
Garnish:
1 cup (ch) of orange glaze
1 egg yolk
3 tablespoons of water.
Dust with:
Cinnamon

Dissolve the yeast in the sugar and orange juice at room temperature
Add the butter, beaten eggs, and sifted flour to form a dough
Check the proof: the dough should be firm yet tender
Cover with a cloth and let it rest until doubled in volume
Preheat the oven to medium temperature
Roll out the dough with a rolling pin, brush with orange glaze, and shape the cake
Transfer to a greased baking sheet and let it rise for another 30 minutes
Dissolve the egg yolk in water, brush the cake and bake at medium heat for 30 minutes or until golden brown
Remove from oven, dust with cinnamon, and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving
If desired, add orange zest to the dough.
