Dissolve the baking powder with 1/2 cup of sugar and 1 cup of milk
Add 1 cup of flour
Beat well and let it rest for 2 hours in a covered bowl
Heat 1 cup of milk with rosewater and allspice, then remove from heat and add salt
Mix, strain, and let it cool
To the dough, after rising, add beaten eggs, like a sweet bread, butter, cream, sugar, grated lemon and orange zest, cinnamon, nutmeg, and raisins
Mix in the flour gradually until you get a consistent but still soft dough
Knead very well, place in a bowl, cover, and let it rest for 1 hour
After that, knead again, add candied fruit and chopped nuts, well mixed with flour
Knead a bit more and divide into 4 portions
Shape the portions into cakes, place them in a greased baking dish, sprinkle with flour, and make some holes in the dough with your finger
Cover and let it rest for another hour
Bake in a hot oven
After baking, brush with lemon juice, 6 tablespoons of water, and sugar syrup
Mix everything together, adding the sugar syrup gradually until you get a thick batter
Beat well, spread over the warm cakes.
