1 packet of active dry yeast for fresh bread
1/4 cup of warm water
2 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour, sifted
2 tablespoons (of soup) of unsalted butter, softened
2 teaspoons of salt
1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
2/3 cup of melted butter or margarine
1/3 cup of warm milk
1 egg
3/4 cup of brown sugar, packed into a cup
1/2 cup of chopped pecans, chestnuts, or cashews

Dissolve the yeast in the warm water
Sift together the flour, unsalted butter, yeast, and salt in a bowl
Add 1/3 cup of melted butter or margarine, cut into small pieces, and mix until a dough forms
Let the milk warm up slightly and add it to the dough
Add the egg and yeast, and beat well
Place on a floured surface
If necessary, add more flour to obtain a firm but pliable dough
Roll out to a rectangle of 37 x 25 cm
Beat the remaining butter with brown sugar
Spread the mixture over the dough
Dust with chopped pecans
Roll up along the longer side
Cut into slices of 2 cm and place in a greased baking dish
Let rise in a protected area for about 45 minutes or until it has doubled in volume
Bake in a preheated oven (200°C) for about 12 minutes.
