Core the pears, cut them in half and remove the core
Place them in a pot and add cinnamon, cloves, and brandy
Simmer over low heat until the pear is tender. Reserve

Mix the chocolate broken into pieces with milk and simmer over low heat
Cook until the chocolate melts and the mixture becomes uniform, then remove from heat
