16 cups of popcorn
1 1/2 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of Karo syrup
2 tablespoons of butter or margarine
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/4 teaspoon of tartar cream
3 to 4 tablespoons of strawberry gelatin
1 tablespoon of baking soda
16 cups of popcorn
1 1/2 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of Karo syrup
2 tablespoons of butter or margarine
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/4 teaspoon of tartar cream
3 to 4 tablespoons of strawberry gelatin
1 tablespoon of baking soda
Preheat the oven to low temperature (150°F)
Place the popcorn in a shallow pan, greased, and put it in the oven to prevent it from getting cold
Prepare two baking sheets with parchment paper, greased, and reserve
In a large saucepan, mix the sugar, Karo syrup, butter or margarine, salt, and tartar cream
Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it reaches the desired consistency
Cook without stirring for about 1 minute after it starts boiling
Add the gelatin and cook for an additional 1 minute
Remove from heat, add baking soda, and do not stir vigorously
Remove the popcorn from the oven and pour it over the gelatin mixture while still foamy
Stir carefully and put it in the oven at moderate temperature (170°F) for 15 minutes, stirring every 2 to 3 minutes
Place in prepared baking sheets lined with parchment paper, greased, and let cool completely
Separate into small portions and store in airtight containers
As the popcorn loses its color in the oven, you can also prepare the recipe without putting it in the oven.
