Melt 1 cup of sugar in a non-stick skillet and coat the bottom and sides of a baking dish with the caramel obtained
Set aside
Ferment milk with coffee, vanilla extract, and salt
Set aside
Beat eggs with egg whites and add the remaining sugar
Beat well and gradually add the hot coffee-milk mixture without stopping to beat
