In a saucepan, combine the grated coconut with the water and cook until it reaches a thread-like consistency
Let it cool, then add the beaten egg whites and yolks, whisking constantly
Then, whisk in the shredded coconut
Whisk very well and add the melted butter or margarine mixed with the all-purpose flour to the coconut mixture
Pour into a hollow mold and bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 30-40 minutes, until a crust forms on top
If desired, you can also add some whole cloves.
