In a pan, mix 1/4 cup of sugar with 1/4 cup of water, bring to low heat and let simmer for 5 minutes
Remove from heat and add Karo
Stir well and let cool
Add the Cognac, stir well and divide this mixture into 6 individual pudding molds
Separately, beat eggs with a fork (like an omelette) with the remaining sugar
Scald milk and pour it in slowly over the eggs
Add vanilla, strain, divide the mixture among the pudding molds, pouring it over the other mixture
Place in a water bath in a moderate oven (170°C), until, when inserting a knife into the pudding, it comes out clean
Remove from oven, let cool and refrigerate until serving time.
