5 tablespoons of melted butter
1 medium onion finely chopped
6 cloves
3 whole cardamom pods
1 small piece of cinnamon
1 sprig of rosemary crushed
1 1/2 cups of rice
1 cup of peas
2 teaspoons of salt
3 cups of water

Heat 2 tablespoons of melted butter and sauté the onion until golden brown
Set aside to use as garnish
Heat the remaining 3 tablespoons of melted butter and sauté the cloves, cardamom pods, cinnamon, and rosemary for 1 minute
Add the rice and sauté for 2-3 minutes
Add the peas and sauté for an additional minute
Bring the water to a boil
Combine the rice and pea mixture
Stir well and cook slowly until the rice is cooked
Serve garnished with the onion
If desired, add canned peas at the end to warm them up.
