2 large and ripe tomato halves, peeled and seeded
3 tablespoons of finely chopped onion
2 cups of grated and chopped carrots
2 tablespoons of minced salt
1 1/2 cups of finely chopped green pepper
to taste

Mix all ingredients together and cook until they're very soft
Strain through a fine-mesh sieve or blend
Cook for an additional 1.5 hours to thicken
Stir frequently to prevent scorching at the bottom of the pot
Pour still hot into preheated containers, leaving about 6 mm of space at the top
Cover tightly and cook in a water bath for 45 minutes
Serve in 2 half-liter containers.
