1 1/2 kg of beef shank

Cut the beef shank into pieces
Season with salt, pepper, and flour, and dust lightly
Melt the butter or margarine in a large skillet over medium heat, then brown the beef on all sides
Add the remaining ingredients (except red wine)
Cover the skillet and let it simmer slowly
This will take approximately 2 1/2 hours
After one hour of cooking, add the red wine
Serve for 3 people.
