1 package of cream cheese - American-style cream cheese (227 g)
5 eggs
18 slices of sandwich bread
1 cup of all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon of active dry yeast
1 tablespoon of unsalted butter, melted
2 tablespoons of unsalted butter, softened
1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
1 and 1/4 cups of milk

Spread a layer of cream cheese between the two slices of bread
In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, flour, yeast, both types of sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and milk until well combined
Dip each slice into this mixture, flipping once to coat evenly
Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat
Add butter to the pan, allowing it to melt and form a 3mm layer
When hot, add several slices of stuffed bread at a time, being careful not to overcrowd the pan
Cover and cook for 5 minutes or until golden brown and puffed up
Flip the French toast over and serve warm or at room temperature
