1 cup of stale bread, cut into thick slices
8 eggs
Cold wine syrup
1/2 cup of Port wine
4 tablespoons of sugar
3 cups of water
Hot milk
400g of sugar
1/2 liter of water
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 tablespoon of butter
1 cup of stale bread, cut into thick slices
8 eggs
Cold wine syrup
1/2 cup of Port wine
4 tablespoons of sugar
3 cups of water
Hot milk
400g of sugar
1/2 liter of water
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 tablespoon of butter
Soak the bread slices in the cold wine syrup, made with Port wine, sugar, and three cups of water
Once they are saturated, squeeze out any excess liquid using a spoon
Separate eight egg yolks and beat well
Dip each bread slice into the beaten eggs and let it soak
Reserve the slices on a plate and prepare the hot milk
Combine water, sugar, and butter in a saucepan
Don't stir to prevent the sugar from crystallizing
Bring to a simmer
When you notice the syrup passing the simmer point, add more water
Then, place the bread slices into the syrup
Cook on both sides
Drain and serve.
