1/2 cup of sugar

2 tablespoons of cornstarch
1 tablespoon of unsalted gelatin
1 1/2 cups of milk
2 egg yolks, beaten lightly

Combine the sugar, chocolate, cornstarch, and gelatin in a saucepan
Add the milk
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture reaches a boil; boil for 1 minute
Pour half of the hot mixture slowly into the egg yolks, whisking well
Mix thoroughly
Add the remaining mixture to the saucepan; cook for an additional 1 minute, stirring constantly
Remove from heat
Place a piece of parchment paper or aluminum foil directly over the saucepan to prevent a skin from forming on top
Let cool
Refrigerate
Makes 2 1/2 cups of filling
Can be used as a topping as well.
