For the dough
1 cup all-purpose flour (120 g)
1/4 cup confectioners' sugar (45 g)
1/2 teaspoon active dry yeast
1/4 cup cold unsalted butter (50 g), cut into small pieces
1 egg
For the filling
3 1/4 cups dried figs (300 g)
1/2 cup chopped nuts (50 g)
1 tablespoon grated lemon zest
Butter (for greasing)
All-purpose flour (for dusting)
For the glaze
100 g semi-sweet chocolate, broken into pieces
For the dough

Prepare the dough: In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients except the egg and mix with your fingertips until it forms a crumbly mixture
Mix in the egg and knead quickly with your hands
Form a ball with the dough and reserve
Prepare the filling: Remove the stems from the dried figs
Process the figs with nuts until smooth
Mix in the grated lemon zest, reserve
Preheat the oven to 180°C (medium)
Grease a large baking dish with butter. Reserve
Dust with all-purpose flour a flat surface
Roll out the dough to a square about 30 cm on each side
Spread the fig and nut mixture over it and roll up forming a log
Place in the prepared baking dish
Bake in the preheated oven until golden (about 30 minutes)
Let cool
Prepare the glaze: Place chocolate pieces in a small saucepan with water (water should not touch the saucepan)
Heat over low heat, stirring gently with a spatula, until chocolate melts (about 5 minutes)
Pour onto a flat surface
Stir the melted chocolate with an offset spatula to cool it down
Brush the cooled log with melted chocolate
Let it set in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes
Transfer to a serving dish and serve immediately

Obs.: If preferred, prepare the roll the day before, let it cool completely, cover carefully with aluminum foil and reserve in the refrigerator until serving time.
