Preheat the oven to a very hot temperature (425°F)
Line a baking dish measuring 16 inches by 6.5 inches with parchment paper
Also grease the parchment paper
Bate the yolks in a mixer for 5 minutes with 1/4 cup of sugar added gradually
In another bowl, beat the egg whites until they become fluffy, adding 1/4 cup of sugar to them gradually
Combine the egg whites and yolks gently
Sift the flour and cornstarch over the mixture, then mix slowly
Spread the dough in the prepared baking dish and bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean
Place a sheet of parchment paper on top of a clean cloth, dust it with sugar, and place the cake on it
Unmold the cake onto the parchment paper, remove the parchment paper that was in the oven, trim the edges, and wrap with the sugared parchment paper
Let it cool
Remove the parchment paper, and serve at room temperature.
