Cocoa Syrup:
1 cup water
1/2 cup dark cocoa powder well packed into a cup
For the drink:
ice cubes
1 shot of dark rum
2 tablespoons cocoa syrup
2 tablespoons lemon juice
A few drops of Angostura or Bitter
Grated nutmeg

1 cup water
1/2 cup dark cocoa powder well packed into a cup
For the drink:

To make the syrup: combine water and dark cocoa powder and let it boil, stirring until the cocoa dissolves
Cook without stirring for 5 minutes
Let it cool
Reserve in a closed glass container
It can be stored indefinitely
Use 1 1/4 cups
For the drink: place ice cubes in a medium-sized cup
Add dark rum, syrup, lemon juice, and bitter to taste
Sprinkle with grated nutmeg
Serve 1 drink.
