Combine the cheese with the butter or margarine, salt, pepper, and chives
Mix until well combined
Sift the flour and mix again
Add to the previous mixture and mix until smooth
Divide the dough into two parts and shape each one into a cylinder about 2 cm in diameter
Wrap them in plastic wrap and refrigerate for later use
Once chilled, cut into thin slices and bake on a lightly greased baking sheet in a moderate oven for 10 minutes, or until lightly browned
Serve warm or cold
Yield: About 40 fritters.
