12 clean and open sardines
Salt to taste
1 cup of water
1/3 cup of vinegar
1 tablespoon of garlic
1 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of ground thyme (optional)
1 teaspoon of paprika in large flakes
1 medium onion, cut into slices
1 cup of heavy cream
1 tablespoon of lemon juice
12 clean and open sardines

Arrange the seasoned sardines on a flat refrigerated surface
Mix all the ingredients except for the heavy cream and lemon juice in a medium-sized pan
Bring to a simmer
Remove from heat and place over the sardines
Cover and refrigerate for at least one day
Drain the sardines and cover with a mixture of heavy cream and lemon juice
