12 small sardines or cavalinhas

Clean the fish, season with salt and pepper, and place in a baking dish or Pyrex
Prepare the white wine and herb mixture by chopping the carrot and onion into thin slices
Pour the mixture over the fish and bake in a hot oven for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through
Serve warm
Garnish each piece of fish with a slice of lemon, peeled
Serve 6 servings.
