1/3 cup melted butter or margarine
2 cups fresh breadcrumbs
banana slices cut into thin rounds
1/3 cup grated coconut
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon grated lime rind
3 tablespoons lime juice
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup shredded coconut
1/3 cup melted butter or margarine

Preheat the oven
Mix the melted butter or margarine with the breadcrumbs
In a greased 1 1/2 liter capacity form, arrange 1/3 of the breadcrumb mixture
Cover with half of the bananas
Mix the grated coconut with the nutmeg and cinnamon, along with the lime rind
Sprinkle half of the mixture over the bananas
Cover with 1/3 of the breadcrumbs and the remaining bananas and coconut
Pour in the lime juice mixed with water
Mix the remaining breadcrumbs with the shredded coconut and sprinkle on top of everything
Bake in a moderate oven, covered for 30 minutes, then remove the lid and bake for an additional 5 to 10 minutes until the coconut topping is golden brown
Serve warm or at room temperature.
