Preheat the oven
Beat the butter or margarine; add the sugar; mix well
Beat the egg yolks until they thicken
Add to the mixture with sugar
Add the lemon juice, grated lemon zest, flour, milk, and shredded coconut
Mix well
Mix thoroughly
Beat the egg whites in a snow-like consistency with a pinch of salt
Combine with the mixture in a lightly oiled 1 1/2-liter mold
Place this mold in a larger one filled with 2 1/2 cm of hot water
Bake in a bain-marie for 40 to 45 minutes or until firm
Let cool
Refrigerate at serving time
