Combine the butter, flour, and onion in a saucepan
Microwave on high for 3 minutes
Add the milk, salt, and nutmeg
Cover and let simmer with a small opening
Resume microwaving on high for an additional 8 minutes, stirring every 2 minutes
Add the coconut and cook for an extra minute at the same heat level
Serve hot
