4 ripe but still firm bananas - 300g
2 tablespoons of butter or margarine - 30g
1 tablespoon of lemon juice - 15ml
1/2 cup of well-packed confectioner's sugar in the cup - 90g
1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
4 large balls of cream ice cream - 400g

Cut the bananas in half lengthwise
In a large skillet, melt the butter and place the bananas with the cut side down
Douse with lemon juice and cook over medium heat for 5 minutes, turning the bananas occasionally until they're tender
Mix the confectioner's sugar and cinnamon, sprinkle it over the bananas and let it sit in the heat until the sugar melts
Heat the brandy or rum, ignite it, and pour it flambé-style over the bananas
Serve with cream ice cream
