18 halves of nuts
4 egg whites

Preheat the oven to a low temperature
Beat the egg whites until fluffy and add the sugar, whisking until stiff peaks form
Continue beating until stiff peaks are formed again
Add the vanilla extract and baking powder, mixing well
Line a baking dish with butter paper
Use a piping bag or spatula to create mounds of the mixture on top of the paper
Place a half nut on top of each mound and cover with more mixture
Bake with the door slightly ajar until the soufflé is lightly golden (approximately 2 hours).
