2 cups all-purpose flour (sift the flour before measuring)
3 teaspoons active dry yeast
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup unsalted butter or margarine, softened
2 eggs
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup melted unsalted butter or margarine
1/2 cup strawberry gelée or other flavor of your preference

Mix together the flour, yeast, and 1 teaspoon baking powder
Place in a bowl and add 1/2 cup softened butter or margarine cut into small pieces, mixing until a crumbly texture forms
In a separate part, beat the eggs with milk, then add that mixture to the dry ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms
Divide the dough into two parts
Roll out each part into a circle 25 cm in diameter and about 1/2 cm thick on a surface dusted with all-purpose flour
Place one circle in a round cake pan, 25 cm in diameter, and spread half of the melted butter over it, followed by strawberry gelée or other flavor of your preference
Place the other dough circle on top and spread the remaining melted butter over it
Dust with 2 teaspoons baking powder and bake in a preheated strong oven (200°C) for 20 minutes
Cut and serve warm.
