One cup of cornmeal flakes
1 1/2 cups of water
Two tablespoons of sugar
Half cup of lemon juice
One-third cup of melted butter or margarine
Six tablespoons of gelatin
One tablespoon of almond extract
Half cup of sugar
One cup of evaporated milk, chilled
One-eighth teaspoon of salt
Half cup of water
Strawberries cut into slices or other fresh fruit for garnish

Mix well the cornmeal flakes, sugar, and melted butter
Line, pressing firmly, the bottom and sides of a tart pan
Let it sit overnight in the refrigerator
Mix the gelatin, sugar, and salt in a saucepan, add water, cook over low heat, stirring constantly until gelatin dissolves
Remove from heat
Add lemon juice and almond extract, mix well
Place in the refrigerator, mixing occasionally, until it reaches the consistency of egg whites without beating
Chill evaporated milk in a tray until it forms soft ice crystals around the edges
Beat until stiff
Add to gelatin mixture
Carefully pour into crust
Garnish with a circle of fruit
Chill until firm.
