In a large bowl, mix the flour and yeast
Achieve a fine crumb by cutting in the butter with your fingertips
Add the sugar and mix well
Mix the milk with water quickly and add to the flour mixture, then knead slightly to form a ball (the dough should be slightly fragile)
Roll out the dough into a rectangle of 20 x 22 cm on a lightly floured surface
Cut into triangles approximately 5 cm in size
Baste with egg, place in an ungreased baking dish and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 20 minutes or until lightly golden
Serve with butter or gelato
Makes around 35 triangles.
