3 cups of green beans cut into medium-sized pieces
1 tablespoon of fresh herbs chopped (parsley, chives, thyme and marjoram)
Salt and black pepper to taste

In a large pot, place cold water up to the halfway mark
Add the herbs
and cover with a metal sieve
Leave the green beans to cook in the boiling water until they're tender but still crisp
Remove from heat and season with salt and black pepper
Serve immediately.
