6 large artichokes

1 tablespoon of wheat flour
1 cup of chopped onion
salt and pepper to taste

Prepare the artichokes according to the previous page's instructions
Cut them in half
Leave them soaking in water with the juice from 2 lemons
While this is happening, sprinkle the wheat flour over the chopped onion and fry it in oil until it's lightly golden
Arrange the artichoke halves, with the cut side facing up, in a large baking dish or skillet; add salt, pepper, and the remaining lemon juice to the onion and oil mixture
Mix well and pour it over the artichokes
Add 1/2 cup of water
Cover and cook slowly until the artichokes are tender
Serve warm or cold
