1 medium onion (100 g), finely chopped

1 can of crushed tomato (400 g - reserve the liquid)
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
1 teaspoon salt
300 g ground beef (rump, brisket or shank), ground
2 cloves garlic, minced
4 slices of stale bread, crumbled
1 teaspoon grated lemon zest
1 egg
1/4 cup black pepper

In a large refrigerator-safe container, combine the onion and olive oil
Microwave on high for 3 minutes
Add the tomato, parsley, and half the salt
Cover and microwave on high for 5 minutes
Stir the tomato to mash it
In a medium bowl, mix together the beef, garlic, bread, lemon zest, egg, black pepper, and remaining salt
Shape into small patties with about 1 tablespoon of the mixture each
Place the almond pâtés on the tomato sauce
Cover and microwave for 5 minutes or until firm and opaque
Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed
Serve hot
