Make ahead 3 days in advance
Prepare the glaze: mix together the confectioner's sugar, cream of tartar, and egg whites in a bowl
With an electric mixer, beat at low speed until well mixed
Increase the speed and beat until the mixture is stiff and smooth
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap to prevent the glaze from drying out
Cut the nylon thread into 6 pieces of 20cm each and tie them into angel shapes for hanging on the tree
Set aside
Make the angel bodies: place the yellow crystal sugar in a plate
With a small spatula, spread the glaze over the ice cream cones and coat them evenly with the sugar, making sure they are well coated
Make the heads with small white cookies coated with glaze
For the wings, use pre-made meringue cut into pieces
In a small bowl, mix 1/4 cup of glaze and add yellow food coloring to achieve the desired color
Dip a brush into this glaze and make the hair and eyebrows of the angels
In another bowl, mix 1 tablespoon of glaze and add red food coloring to create the cheeks and mouth
Let it set for at least an hour before serving
