1 small new chicken
1 finely chopped onion
1 tablespoon of butter or margarine
1/2 teaspoon of oil
2 cups of rice
2 chicken bouillon tablets
3 tablespoons of chopped ham
5 tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons of peeled and chopped almonds (or peanuts or cashews)
(or substitute with raisins)
3 tablespoons of pitted dates

Clean the chicken and cut it into pieces
Heat the butter or margarine over medium heat, along with the oil
Fry the onion and chicken until golden brown, stirring constantly
Add the rice and fry for a bit more
Pour in boiling water and dissolve the bouillon tablets
Once it starts to boil, reduce the heat and cover the pan
After resting, mix in the ham, cheese, almonds (or peanuts or cashews), and dates
Taste, adjust salt, and season with pepper as desired
Turn off the heat and let it rest for 10 minutes
Serve with fried bananas for four to six people
If using a larger chicken with thicker meat, cook for 10 more minutes before adding the rice
