Preheat the oven to moderate temperature (170°C)
Whisk together 1 egg, butter or margarine, and cake mix in a bowl until a consistency of farofa is achieved
Reserve 1 cup of this mixture
Spread the remaining farofa mixture into an ungreased baking dish of 32 x 22 x 5 cm and pat lightly
Bake for 15 minutes or until slightly golden
Whisk together the remaining 2 eggs, powdered sugar, baking powder, grated lemon zest, and lemon juice in a bowl until frothy
Spread this mixture over the warm cake batter and sprinkle with reserved farofa mixture
Bake again for an additional 15 minutes or until slightly golden
Sprinkle with confectioner's sugar
Allow to cool, then cut into bars of 5 x 2 cm
Yield: 32 bars.
