Cherry halves
Mix together the crushed wafers or Madeira cake, confectioner's sugar, 1 cup of chopped hazelnuts, and unsweetened chocolate
Blend well
Add in light corn syrup and dark rum, mixing until smooth
Shape into balls approximately 2.5 cm in diameter
Dip half the balls in confectioner's sugar and the other half in the remaining 1/2 cup of chopped hazelnuts
Place a cherry half in each of the rum-coated balls
Store in an airtight container
