Preheat the oven to medium temperature and grease the mold with butter
In a mixer, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition
Combine flour, baking powder, and lime zest
Mix well
Pour the mixture into the prepared mold
Peel the caramel and cut it into thin slices
Arrange the caramel slices on top of the batter, overlapping them slightly
Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean
Let cool before removing from the mold
Dust with sugar to taste and serve.
